GMAT Score

The real purpose of your GMAT score is to show your school what your likely performance would be as a student. They believe if they make a habit of admitting students with very low GMAT scores, then their academic program would suffer as a result.

Don't fret too much about a certain score. The important thing is that your GMAT score, your grades, and the school you want to attend are compatible. For example, if you have a high GMAT score and good grades, then a top program is achievable. If your GMAT score and grades are average, then perhaps you should reconsider the school you are attending.

For the most part, the school you attend and thus your GMAT score have very little correlation with career success. The important thing is that you have that MBA, which gets you instant recognition as someone with the right stuff to be an executive and manager.

So, to conclude, make sure you understand what your GMAT score is and what it is not. Use careful planning and only apply to schools that are compatible with your GMAT score, work experience, and grade performance as an undergraduate.
