GMAT Preparation

The main variable with GMAT preparation is how much time you have to spend. With more people working more hours than ever in busy careers, it's no wonder most students don't have a lot of time for GMAT preparation.

Obviously your mileage may vary, but here is a plan that can work for you: first, get a good study guide to assist you with your GMAT preparation. Second, set aside a fixed amount of time each morning to study the GMAT before going to work. You will probably find that your brain functions best for GMAT preparation in the morning, so either study before getting ready for work, or wait to do your GMAT preparation at your desk at work during breaks. Be sure your boss is supportive. After all you are doing your best to improve your skills for the company.

Another point about GMAT preparation is that practice makes perfect. Doing practice tests is the most important task in studying for the GMAT. A good study guide will point you in the right direction in regard to the proper priority of different activities in your limited time available for GMAT preparation.

Like many, you should become more comfortable with the idea of this very important test once you have it "under control" with a set schedule, a great GMAT preparation study guide, and the confidence to execute on test day. Your experiences will be valuable in preparing you for a very demanding MBA program. They may even help you become a better professional and manager. If you have the chance to do significant GMAT preparation, try to view it as a growth experience rather than as a chore.

A proper attitude is one of the key reasons you will be able to successfully achieve your goals in GMAT preparation.
